Did you know?  This area of SC (Oconee County) has one of the densest concentrations of waterfalls in the United States. There are two reasons for this: an ample supply of water and a sudden change in elevation. The Blue Ridge escarpment provides the sudden change in elevation, separating the gentle rolling hills of the Piedmont and the more rugged terrain of the Blue Ridge Mountains. Most trails that traverse this narrow region change 2000 feet in elevation over a distance of 4 miles.   There are many shorter trails and most of these waterfalls are easy and short walks from public roads.  This is an outstanding hiking area for novice explorers, as well as the experienced.  The great rivers and lakes of the area, as well as nearby Clemson, Walhalla, Seneca, Cashiers, and Highlands, make this a great and memorable choice for any family vacation, with plenty to do- to find out more about the SC's Golden Corner, CLICK HERE.  At nearby Lake Jocassee, there is a great outdoor center, where you can rent boats very reasonably.  Here is the link:  Jocassee Outdoor Center .  There is also more area information at the  Jocassee Outdoor Center  web site.

We are located on Lake Cherokee (many maps show it as Lake Isaquenna, but all locals know it as only Lake Cherokee), just off of Highway 11 a few miles north of Walhalla and west of Salem, SC.  We are 2.5 hours from Charlotte, and 2.5 hours from Atlanta.  The home is located on the lake with views of the southern edge of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

We want to cost effectively reach vacationers and provide renters with sufficient information to make an informed decision when renting a vacation home.  Full disclosure is a common theme to all of the property advertised and all dealings with vacation renters.

First and foremost, we want to rent to caring families, who will respect our property.  In return, we will provide you with more value for your vacation dollar, both in terms of amenities and the rental charge.   

In setting up our home for ourselves and our guests,  we strived for cleanliness, freshness, and providing as many amenities as possible, while being able to keep the rental charge in a reasonable range.   We spent extra money on mattress quality and the furnishings are very niche, throughout.  

In addition to full disclosure, good and prompt service are top priorities in all of our communications.

We are also vacation homeowners at Ocean Isle Beach, and have been renting our home at Ocean Isle since 1999 http://www.oceanislerentals.com.  Here is a link to our Ocean Isle renter comments: Renter comments for our other personally owned beach Vacation Home.  This will give you a good idea of how we work with our guests.  Our mountain lake home is new for us in 2005, but we promise to provide the same top shelf service that we do with our beach home.   We reside in Concord, N.C.   This web site and advertising service is handled personally us.   We started our beach web site in 1999 and this site in 2005.   We will be starting our second year of renting our mountain home to vacationers.  The first year went very well, as evidenced by the "real" guest comments, at the link above.  Every guest we have had has found the property to exceed their expectations in every way.  This little piece of paradise in the corner of SC is a hidden gem and worth a serious look.
